The antibody recognizes p44 ERK1 of human, rat, bovine, mouse and rabbit. There is a slight cross reaction with p42 ERK2.

Scientific Description

One of the members of mitogen-activated protein kinases is called P44 MAP Kinase (Erk1). It participates in cell growth and differentiation. ^[1,2] By phosphorylating transcription factors, (e., ELK-1), P44 MAP kinase regulates meiosis and mitosis of the cell. In the case of human MAP kinase, Erk1 activates Elk-1 through phosphorylation of threonine 202 and tyrosine 204. It is also known that Erk1 autophosphorylates tyrosine. ^[3]

Storage & Stability

Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C. For extended storage, store product at -20°C. Expiration date is one year from date of shipping if stored properly.
