The affinity purified rabbit polyclonal anti-phospho-Crebtide (pCrebtide) antibodies are developed using a technique unique to ImmuneChem. The pCrebtide antibodies are affinity purified using phospho-Crebtide on agarose followed by affinity adsorption with the non-phospho-Crebtide. The purified antibody was conjugated to horse radish peroxidase (HRP) via reductive amination. Direct labeling of the primary anti-pCrebtide will avoid the use of secondary antibodies therefore eliminating the interference of the secondary antibody conjugates and also facilitating the assay. The antibodies could be utilized for the detection and quantization of phosphorylated Crebtide by target protein kinases.

Specificity

The antibody only recognizes the phosphorylated crebtide product of PKA and PKC in a non-radioactive kinase assay. There are no cross reactions with non-phosphorylated crebtide.

Scientific Description

Creb (cAMP response element binding) proteins are transcription factors that regulate certain activities of gene transcription. Crebtide is a peptide (KRREILSRRPSYR) derived from the Creb protein. PKC kinases phosphorylate crebtide to form phospho-crebtide.

Storage & Stability

Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C. For extended storage, store product at –20ºC. Expiration date is six months from date of shipping if properly stored.
